    Had another go at 3DS Max today after a long break. Scrapped the AA-12 and now trying a pistol, FN Five-Seven.
    Here’s a picture of how my first 2 hours with it went.

    Texturing has not made progress. I attempted to add chamfer’s to the model and added a smooth modifier in order to create a rounder gun rather than a box with a barrel. Nice in theory, hard in practicality. Tried several times with varying results. UVW mapping and textures still look as sharp as always and I can’t seem to achieve what Ig_Pappy did with the original SWAT 4 weapons. I guess I’ll have to keep reading, waiting for Ig_Pappy to notice the forum post and keep trying random things.

    Apparently it’s not possible to attach breaching rounds into the normal shotgun (Nova Pump and M4 Super 90). Two options…
    - Duplicate the breaching shotgun, overlay with AA-12 model and beef up the ammo so it can kill and breach.
    - Carry a breaching shotgun and then make ’Thor’s Hammer’ when I have time.

  • plohtato posted an update:   1 year, 6 months ago · View Currently developing my first SWAT 4 weapon. My first encounter with 3DS max really began a few days ago. Modelling was a pain however things have worked quite well so far. Textures are the worst in terms of realism but then again, there’s a first for everything.
    I’ve managed to get the AA-12 into third person and first-person modes with high rates of fire and a 20 round ammo capacity. Still trying to figure out how to implement a clip system that AA-12’s normally have. An attempt to overlay the G36K with the AA-12 resulted in no ammo for some reason.
