Ten Things You Should Know About BioShock Infinite
In BioShock Infinite, you are Booker DeWitt, Pinkerton agent turned private investigator, sent to the floating city Columbia to track down a woman named Elizabeth. Unlike in the original BioShock, your character has an identity, a known past–and, most noticeably, a voice, opening up whole new storytelling possibilities.

DeWitt was ejected from the notorious Pinkerton National Detective Agency for his extreme methods–methods that may serve him well in the unpredictable city of Columbia. And while DeWitt’s basic background is known from the start, there’s more to his story. Uncovering the secrets of his past is just one of the player’s goals.

This is the second in a series of short posts about BioShock Infinite being released one a day until the unveiling of its first gameplay demonstration video, which will go live September 21 on Xbox LIVE and Xbox.com, and September 22 elsewhere.

A voice…..interesting. Does this mean we shall see dialogue options, similair to the Mass Effect games?
Thanks Chis for these nice bite sized posts!

I’m not sure how a dialogue wheel would affect the pacing of a 1st person shooter. It’s certainly an interesting concept, though.

I can’t wait to find out what kinds of crazy secrets DeWitt has. The secrets behind Jack’s life blew me out of the water in Bioshock.

I’m so excited that Bioshock is continuing, no matter what the story or characters are like.
When I first played Bioshock I had no idea what it was going to be like, and I was just in awe at how good it was. The story, characters, the environment, everything; I was instantly hooked.
Now I can’t wait for Infinite!

hopefully you guys have get some inspiration for this game because bioshock 2 was about as uninspired as one can get. Why are so many linear fps games with weak enivironment fx built on unreal engine? It blows my mind. Will i get to kill at least 50 big daddies and trigger 100 cutscenes in infinite day? Will I ride a train between various levels? Are you friends with the guys over at Raven?

It’ll be weird playing as someone that has an actual backstory, unlike Jack. I’m definitely looking forward to the possibilities. :)

I am still up in the air on this concept. I really think that the fact that there wasn’t much of a backstory in Bioshock (aka. You’re plane crashed and you happened to discover an underground city) sucked you into the story. You couldn’t really help but see yourself as the main character.
