You know who’s lucky? Irrational Games staffers. Not only do they get to work on games like BioShock, Freedom Force and System Shock 2, they get to have their names written into the fiction. Jerks.
You might even recall establishments like Sinclair Spirits and Robertson’s Tobaccoria in BioShock. Those were named after staffers Scott Sinclair and Shawn Robertson.
Here’s the thing about BioShock Infinite: Now it’s your turn.
With our new game we also want to pay tribute to our community. That’s why we’re giving one of you the chance to become immortalized within the world of Columbia! You could end up as the namesake of a building, a character, a business–whatever our artists come up with. It’s the ultimate bragging rights.
The submission period ended April 13 at 11:59PM Eastern Time. The winner will be announced in the coming weeks.

You know your last name should be like this: “van der Ham”, with spaces in between. That’s the way it is traditionally spelt in the Netherlands, because they are three seperate words. It only means: “of the ham” or just “from ham”
Same as with Booker DeWitt, it should be “Booker de Witt”, meaning “Booker the White” or “Booker the Pale”
Americans have this strange rule that last names can only be one word… all original Dutch last names get squished together, why?

I somehow doubt Sinclair Sports was in any way related to a staffer with Augustus Sinclair involved in the game. Especially, when it’s listed as his in game literature.

I know that the toppic its closed but i think that it could be cool to use the name Eos (http://www.theoi.com/Titan/Eos.html). As the city almost “touch” the sky using the fire as a source, those people can appreciate the great meaning of energy. Thus a name for a power station or a scientific building (sunlight promotes creativity) could be Eos.
Thank you for inovating in the creation of the first Bioshock. I believe it was a surpise for the FPS category. In my opinion, its wrong that many gamers confuse the brand Bioshock with Rapture. Bioshock is relative to biogenetics. Keep the good work and please try not to pospone the release date.
