Mac/iPad Love?

Was hoping that you guys are planning Mac support from the ground up with your next title? Was very happy to see Bioshock make it to the Mac, not so much a year after the fact.

Also curious if you guys were playing around with a killer iPad/iPhone title and give Carmack and id a run for the money?

i rather they just work on the actual game and not waste their time with little spin off games (in reference to an iPad/iPhone game)

I'm all for anything that gets Irrational Games into as many hands as possible. I don't consider such things "selling-out:." And as a childhood Mac gamer, I would be remiss for not supporting the system that brought FPS to my attention.

haha yes only because that is an actual system not like the iPad/iPhone they're fun for small games, but something like BioShock needs to be on an actual gaming system

Well they (Irrational) wouldn't be working on the iOS game. They would give the rights to a game developer that are experienced in creating those types of games. For example, Ubisoft gave Gameloft the rights to "Assassin's Creed" so they could make the game "Altair's Chronicles".

I'm pretty sure Infinite will have Mac support, doesn't the original game support Steamplay?

That's right, unless it's the Vita. They can support it as far as we all know!

Yes. It does support Steam play. But, it's not on Mac. I use my Mac for traveling and would highly enjoy games like this on it. Macs just weren't meant for games I guess? /:

if they decided they wanted to bring a game to the iPad/iPhone i would much rather they do it themselves gameloft is horrible something like EA did with Dead Space

Macs are certianly not ment for a heavy usage game. Although they can run many games the mac itself was not built to be that kind of machine. Even the video cards are usless underclockd copies of some basic ATI cards, about a $60 card on the shelf that mac has underclocked, and this is an a 2000-3000 dollar imac. If you want a true gaming machine, save a few thousand dollars, main boot linux for speed and security, and VM ware some windows drives.

Yeah. I would especially love something like Dead Space iOS for Bioshock. It was very long for an iOS game, but still awesome. But I was just throwing out an exampIe. I don't think I would want Gameloft to make it either.

Steamplay is the ability to play on Mac.

BioShock 1 is available for Mac on the App Store that comes with every new Mac, plus a few other sources. If not at launch, I would think within a year?
