i hope they keep with the creepy 40's motif, thats what creeped me out in the first game. The fact that people didn't know enough about medicine and they performed weird things, is mind blowing. |

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will work wonders, his creepy style and understanding of his projects is excellent. Plus Gore Verbinski is producing. |

I really hope the movie does the game justice. It could be so good.... |

Ken! Ken! Are you out there? Will we get a movie? Will you be involved? I know it is stalled right now, but I am hoping it will not be dead. |

I hope it gives off the same nerve racking feeling that the game did. |

Assuming it gets made one day, I hope that it doesn't try and copy the game exactly, I'd like it to try and recreate the atmosphere and feel of decay in it's own way. The fact that you can't explore a movie means that a straight copy-paste wouldn't work IMO. |

I really hope they don't go PG-13, most movie adaptations go that route and just do a cheap view of the game and it feels fake. It has to be rated R. |

I hope and wish for heavy involvement from Stan Winston Studio, but that's applicable for all movies. |

You know, I'm probably not the first one thinking this, but I've been jaded by games that turn into movies. As much hope that I have for the Bioshock movie to turn out great, I still have my doubts. We'll just have have to wait and see the screen shots... |

I'm actually glad Gore Verbinski wont be directing it. His films are usually quite epic and focus on delivering a scary style but end up being impressive and more comical, just look at his Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. Where as Juan's films are actually scary, look at 28 Weeks later. |

Awesome, I wasn't aware of a movie in the works. Hopefully it won't suck as most game to movie adaptations do. |

I wasn't aware of a movie, either. Checking IMDB..... Apparently, this guy is directing. Same guy who directed '28 Weeks Later'. Was that any good? |

not as good as 28 Days Later, but I thought it was pretty good. I liked the expansion of the story line. |

I'm just wondering how they are going to build Fort Frolic. |

I hope a movie is still in the works. Bioshock had a killer story. |

I say leave Bioshock alone...I'd go see the movie, but it could never beat the game. |

Let's see... this is just speculation, but if they were going to turn BioShock into a 2 1/2 to 3 hour movie, my guess is that they're going to change things, but that's obvious, so the question is what will they do? I'd say they'll keep true to most of the events of "Welcome to Rapture", shorten the Medical Pavillion section, and make it so Jack spends less time in Fort Frolic by having Sander Cohen trail him instead of Jack being his new "prodigy." Beyond that, they would probably cut a lot of Arcadia out, maybe make it so all Jack does is go to the booth and hit some switch, or remove it entirely. The problem with trying to figure out what the studio would remove or splice (only a small pun intended) together to make the movie a manageable length. But now that I really think about it, a quality BioShock movie could run up to 3 1/2 hours and still be great. Thoughts from anyone else? |

Thanks not-ken :\ Kind of as assumption at this point, we all know what the early talk was, does not mean it is still that way. |

Every time this subject comes by, I can only think of one question, and please actually think about this for a second: do we really want a BioShock movie? :S |

I wuld want them to recreate their own retelling of bioshock but if they coud pull of the rapture art deco and the amazing twist without ruining the story,....it might be epic |

i heard rumors that they have stopped production due to going over the budget or something like that? *but that was easily a year ago* |

That's actually a fact, but they didn't really cancel it, they just delayed it or something like that. I would love to see a Bioshock movie. |

Depends on what the movie is about. I'd want something that compliments the game's story not retelling it as a fancy play through. Impossible to happen but my ideal movie would be the creation of Rapture through Ryan finding all the geniuses that he takes with him. Seeing Ryan as he first started; with a single purpose and optimism to being his dream into reality. The running time would be 3 hours and treated as if it was a period piece with the more fantastical elements being blended in as much as possible to retain the illusion. More of Neill Blomkamp's 'District 9' than Cameron's 'Avatar' in terms of grittiness. The soundtrack would be period as well so the whole endeavor might come off as 'Citizen Kane' underwater. This could be filmed independently with enough greenscreen work but hopefully with better integration of actors and scenery than in 'Sky Captian And The World Of Tomorrow'. No idea on who to cast. Some scenes I'd want to see; Thanks for the thread, fenpsycho. |

I could see the prequel being a good way to go. Perhaps Rapture's already been built and the Big Daddy project is underway (you can't have a BS movie w/o the BD's. Maybe a reference is made to Jack's birth, but I'd not make a big deal about it. |

Everyone check out the launch trailer for BioShock 2, it is done in the same style as the original launch trailer for BioShock 1, only much longer. It is simply BREATH TAKING. If they are still going to do a BioShock movie, PLEASE don't make it live action, instead make it completely in cgi like this. It's the only way I can see it doing the world of BioShock and Rapture any justice, regardless of storyline. |
